On-Ramps to Careers, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in Washington, DC.  It was founded as business-education partnership and its board reflects this foundational strategy.

Quincy Benbow, Board Chair

Senior Tableau Account Executive, Salesforce 

Quincy Benbow is a Senior Sales Executive with more than twenty five years of successful sales and management experience in a wide variety of IT software and infrastructure solutions. Proven track record in developing sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share objectives and building and restructuring sales teams and field operations in Commercial, Enterprise and Federal markets.

Accomplished organizational leader with exceptional skill set in recruiting, developing “A” players, building strong teams and driving organizational execution and strategies to meet corporate goals. Organizational experience includes start-ups, hyper-growth and Fortune 50 technology companies.

​Quincy holds a  Bachelor of Business Administration, Management Information Systems Degree from Howard University. He is a native of South Carolina and lives with his family in Fort Washington, Maryland. 

James Vollman, Secretary/Treasurer

JD, President, Advanced Workforce Systems

Jim Vollman is the president of Advanced Workforce Systems, which designs software and systems for applications related to job finding and labor market information. He also serves as Senior Vice President of Associated Veterans, LLC, which provides information technology and project management services to the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies. In past roles, he served as an Associate Assistant Secretary at the US Department of Labor and helped to create labor market information delivery systems in the US, Northern Ireland, South Africa, and Macedonia.  Mr. Vollman is a member of the bar in Michigan and he holds a Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Sasha Alston

Marketing Campaign Manager, JPMorgan Chase and Founder & CEO, The STEM Code, On-Ramps Alumni

Sasha A. Alston is an acclaimed author renowned for her groundbreaking children's book series, including "Sasha Savvy Loves to Code" and "Sasha Savvy Starts it Up," which champions STEM exploration and entrepreneurship. As a sought-after speaker, Sasha has graced national platforms, and been featured on Good Morning America, Forbes, HuffPost, and Black Enterprise, while inspiring youth in initiatives by Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta.

 

A graduate of Pace University's Lubin School of Business with a degree in Business Administration, Sasha currently serves as a Marketing Campaign Manager at JPMorgan Chase. She is also the Founder/CEO of The Stem Code. With years of experience in client relationship-building, strategic analysis, and storytelling, Sasha's passion for marketing, branding, and social media has driven significant improvements for global brands, reinforcing her commitment to advancing STEM education and accessibility.

Alicia Brown

Founder, TMG Consulting, & President of the Blacks in Technology Maryland

Accomplished Cybersecurity Expert with over a decade of experience in designing and implementing robust security strategies for diverse organizations. Adept at identifying and mitigating potential threats, while maintaining a strong focus on risk management and regulatory compliance. An effective communicator and team leader, skilled at building and nurturing high-performing cybersecurity teams. Passionate about staying ahead of the latest trends in information security and committed to helping organizations safeguard their digital assets.

Alicia received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Maryland and Master's Degree in Political Science and Government from American University.

Greg L. Brundidge

Business Strategy and Development Executive, DoD, Salesforce

Greg is a Salesforce Business Strategy and Development Executive for DoD, and is responsible for leading (planning, coordinating, and executing) BD efforts in support of Salesforce’s DoD Business Sales Operations. 

Before joining Salesforce, Greg was self-employed as an Independent Consultant for Government Relations and Enterprise IT Systems Planning and Solutions.

 

Positions in the private sector IT industry included Client Relationship Executive for the General Dynamic Information Technology (GDIT) Defense Division and Vice President, Air Force Cyber and Enterprise IT Account Manager, and as Vice President, Defense Business Strategy at SRA, International. 

 

Prior to retiring from the Air Force in 2012, Greg served as Director of C3 and Warfighting Integration, HQ U.S. European Command.  He was commissioned in 1979 after graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy. Key Air Force assignments included staff positions at HQ USAF and the Joint Staff, Director of Communications and Information for Pacific Air Forces, and for Air Combat Command. 

 

He commanded three times, twice at the squadron level and as Commander of the 3rd Combat Communications Group, Tinker AFB, OK. He also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Communications and Information Systems, Multi-National Force-Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq during OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. 

Christopher A. Carroll

Vice President of Government & Regulatory Affairs, Comcast

Accomplished regional director with experience in overseeing and managing government affairs and relationships to shape and influence government policies impacting an organization. Background in strategic planning, government relations, public policy, lobbying and legislative analysis. Exemplary communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.  Chris works for Comcast as the Vice President of Government & Regulatory Affairs.  Previously as the Regional Director of AT&T, Christopher advanced AT&T’s legislative, regulatory, and external affairs agenda in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Christopher also worked for the Maryland state government where he served as Policy and Legislative Director to Governor Larry Hogan, and most recently as Chief of Staff for the Maryland Department of Information Technology.

Larnelle Hardy

Larnelle is a native of Washington DC where he attended Capitol Technology University and American University pursuing cybersecurity and business. 

Frederick Henry

Founder & CEO, Switch Strategic Consulting, LLC

Frederick is known as a visionary and transformational leader and boasts 35 years of experience optimizing organizational resources to achieve mission impacts.  He works in the field of Client Relations and developed strategic technology solutions in application modernization, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.  Frederick received his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology at Fitchburg State University then went on to receive two Master's Degrees; one in Business Administration and Management from Bowie State University, and another in National Strategic Studies from Army War College.  He is eager to put his skills and experience to use to create opportunities for the next generation of STEM workers by ensuring an inclusive workforce supporting the Digital Transformation Human Capital pipeline.

Barbara Hoffman

Vice President, Head of Business to Government (B2G) and Global Strategic Operations, Samsung

Mrs. Barbara Hoffman joined Samsung in 2018 and leads the Global Business to Government (B2G) team furthering the company’s role in global business development in government for mobile communications. In this roll she interfaces with global senior leaders in the government and military providing secure supply chain and 5G solutions and strategies for mobile edge devices to meet today’s demanding mobile communication requirements. Prior to joining Samsung, she was with the United States Department of Defense for 34 years. Appointed the Department of Defense Chief Information Officer (DOD CIO), Principal Deputy for the Information Enterprise September 2016. Lead the delivery of the first ever Software as a Service (SaaS) for Enterprise Collaboration and Productivity Services (ECAPS) across the entire DOD. The effort streamlined all office productivity (word processing); messaging (email); content management (portal); collaboration (chat); video conferencing and voice mail for all of DOD and impacted how DOD budgets and acquisitions for these capabilities. Named DOD CIO Deputy for Business Process and Systems Review February 2016, conducting business process and IT systems reviews as directed by the Deputy Secretary of Defense to increase mission effectiveness, ensure security, and identify savings for reinvestment in DOD. Named Deputy Director of the Joint Service Provider (JSP) July 2015. Guided the establishment of a single service provider consolidating and delivering common/shared IT services within the Pentagon and National

Capital Region. Appointed to the Enterprise Performance Division of the DoD Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer (DCMO) November 2014 responsible for measuring performance against the Department’s Agency Strategic Plan and establishing strategic goals and objectives, while also serving as the project lead for the development and implementation of JSP.

Appointed as the Principal Deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Department of the Navy (DON) from 2009 – 2014. Managed the DON CIO’s cybersecurity and infrastructure, IT efficiencies and analysis, and information and workforce management functional teams. Led the development of policies, plans, architectures, standards, and process guidance to achieve and sustain interoperability, security, and IT business transformation consistent with the Department’s vision, goals and mission. Provided strategic guidance for integrated product teams to identify and implement cost saving efficiencies in the information management and IT/cyberspace environments. As DON senior security assurance officer, was responsible for developing and maintaining an agency-wide information security program. Mrs. Hoffman holds a bachelor's degree in Technology Management from the University of Maryland University College and a master's degree in Management and Technology from George Mason University. She is a graduate of the Federal Women's Executive Leadership Program. Awards include the DON Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the Federal 100 Award, and Government Computer News IT Leader Award.

Robert Holm

Founder of  On-Ramps to Careers, & Director, Information Technology Academy, McKinley Technology High School

Robert Holm has twenty years of experience establishing employer-oriented initiatives that advance education and economic opportunity in urban communities.  Before founding On-Ramps to Careers in 2013, he worked at Jobs for the Future (JFF) and the National Center for Education and the Economy, where he consulted to governments, colleges, chambers of commerce, school districts, and foundations in the US and abroad.  Projects included the Harvard University-JFF Pathways to Prosperity (PTP) Network and building employer engagement with 12 colleges in South Africa.  He previously helped establish a partnership between the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Harley Davidson, Manpower, Johnson Controls, and others, and built a firm providing business planning and financing services for minority-owned businesses.  He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard and served in the U.S. Army and National Security Agency.

Stephanie Johnson

Business Information Security Officer, Children’s National Hospital

With over 22 years experience, Stephanie provides public and private sector clients with innovative technical solutions through cyber risk-focused strategies, services, and IT business process improvement with core competencies in project management, cybersecurity, user experience design, network and systems engineering.  Stephanie serves as the Business Information Security Officer for Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC.  She is also the Founder and CEO of ThirtySeven21, a digital design agency and leading provider of digital products and technology consulting services.  Stephanie is a passionate supporter of women, girls and minorities in tech, volunteering with organizations such as On-Ramps to Careers, Girls In Tech, Girls Who Code, Women In Tech, National Society of Black Engineers and DC Public Schools.  Stephanie received her Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. She is a native of Flint, Michigan and resides with her family in Washington, DC. 

Ryan Jones

Executive Sales Director of Enterprise Industry, Microsoft

C. Ryan Jones currently serves as an Executive Sales Director for Microsoft’s U.S. Enterprise Industry group, running an industry focused segment of the overall U.S. business holdings. Ryan has driven market share growth across various product lines, negotiated billions in revenue agreements with Fortune 100 clients, the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Health and Human Services and has been driving industry transformation for Microsoft U.S. since 2016.

 

Ryan is passionate on personal and professional development and has created and supported mentoring structures in each of his assignments to help others attain their goals. Ryan has recently completed a tenure as Chair of the DC Chapter of Blacks at Microsoft (BAM), a 30+year old Employee Resource Group dedicated to supporting the continued growth and development of Black employees. He’s also created and supported training curriculums to help Microsoft employees in BAM improve their personal and professional development as the Worldwide Career Development Lead from 2022-2023. 

 

Ryan is also a member of the Board of Directors for Beacon House, an organization providing children in the Edgewood neighborhood of Northeast Washington, DC with a safe, nurturing, and life-expanding community in which to increase their academic achievement, discover their talents, and to grow into healthy adults who achieve their greatest potential. Last but certainly not least, Ryan runs a sales training and business development firm, Adapt & Advance, and is a frequent panelist on technology and leadership podcasts and trade shows.  A proud DCPS high school alumnus, Ryan holds a B.S., Computer Science from Shepherd College (WV), an MBA from George Washington University (DC) and several executive certifications ranging from LSS to BPM and PMP from Villanova University (PA).

Monique LeNoir

National Director of  Communications, United Negro College Fund

Monique LeNoir Pittman is a seasoned communications professional with more than 25 years of experience in the field.  She has served as the National Director of Communications for UNCF (United Negro College Fund) for the past 4 years, where she is responsible for running the day-to-day of the Branding, Marketing and Communications Department. Monique previously served on the senior leadership team as the Director of Resource Development for the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO). Before joining BAEO, Monique worked as Director of Communications for the Washington Teachers' Union, where she was responsible for all media and communications activities. She also worked for DC Public Schools where she managed the day-to-day of the Communications Department for 7 years, as the Communications Manager for an international microcredit organization the Foundation for International Community Assistance (FINCA), and ran her own freelance public relations firm, Madison McKenzie Communications, for several years. She has held Board of Director positions for Washington Yu Ying Public Charter Schools and Ethnic Health America was an advisory board member of the UNCF Walton Fellowship Program and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, Jack, and Jill of America Inc., and Twelve Days of Christmas Inc. Monique obtained her undergraduate degree in Public Relations from Howard University and a Master’s Degree in Public Communications from American University. A native of Oakland, California she resides in Washington, DC with her husband and two sons.

Nigel Rosser

Manager of Operations, Pepco Holdings

As a Pepco Holdings manager of operations, Nigel is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities on 142 substations within the Washington Metropolitan area.  Nigel is responsible for providing leadership and development to work teams,  conducting performance plans and appraisals, and identifying opportunities for growth and learning.   Nigel is also the leader of the “Diverse Workforce” sub-team on Pepco Holdings Diversity and Inclusion Council.  Nigel is a 4th generation Washingtonian. In his free time, Nigel enjoys volunteering with the National Society of Black Engineers and participating in SAT preparation courses. In addition, Nigel regularly participates in various activities at DC Public High Schools, including technology and engineering fairs and career days.   Nigel Rosser is a graduate of the 2007 class of McKinley Technology High School where he was the first SGA President after its re-opening.  Nigel Attended North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University, where he attained a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Elliott Williams

Director of SLED, Iron Bow Technologies

Elliott Williams has over 30 years of transformational leadership in the IT industry.  He is currently responsible for Iron Bow’s strategic growth in the SLED market marketplace. Prior to joining Iron Bow, Elliott had over 28 years of Leadership at Dell Technologies, including supporting the Dell and Iron Bow partnership. Most recently, leading the Dell Public Alliance Organization, Elliott led the Federal Channel team and was a founding member of the Small Business Trade Association for Federally focused small and medium businesses named GovEvolve. He was also instrumental in the expansion of the Partner Advisory Board and served on Dell Technologies Government Relations Advisory Board.  Finally, while leading the Channel Organization at Dell, Elliott drove double digit growth over 12 consecutive years. 

  

Elliott holds a  Bachelor of Business Administration, from Concordia University. He is a native of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and lives with his family in in Georgetown, TX.

 

Elliott is thrilled to bring his extensive expertise to the On-Ramp to Careers board, contributing to the continued success and innovation of the organization in supporting young students in STEM!
